Bob Burchers, Vice President of Product Marketing, and John Terence , Vice President of Hardware Engineering at Apple, appeared on the latest episode of the Same Brain podcast hosted by two tech YouTubers , iJustine and Jenna Ezarik . And discussed various Apple products, including new products in the iPad family  . In this conversation, we saw the reference to different iPads until the fourth generation of iPad Air,  which was introduced some time ago .

The iPad Air 2020  , which has seen a significant improvement in appearance compared to the previous generation iPad Air, is equipped with the world’s first five-nanometer chip. One of the great things about the new iPad Air is its full-screen design. The iPad Pro features a full-featured Face ID technology design; However, the fourth generation iPad Air does not have a Face ID and uses Touch ID. Removing the Home button prompted Apple to integrate Touch ID technology into the power button on the side edge of the tablet . This is the first time the Touch ID has been inserted into the power button. It is said that if the implementation of Touch ID in the power button of the iPad Air is successful, Apple intends to repeat this approach for the next generation iPhone SE .

In part, Bob Burchers turned to the new iPad Air power button. “Implementing the Touch ID sensor on the top of the button, which is smaller than the Home button, is a milestone, and the iPad Air 2020 power button is a marvel of engineering,” said the vice president of Apple Product Marketing. Continuing the podcast, John Terence explained that the dimensions of the Touch ID sensor are very narrow, making it difficult to implement on the top of the power button.
