Apple recently filed a lawsuit against a Canadian electronics recycling company called Geep  ; Apple claims that Geep illegally sold more than 100,000 of the company’s recycled devices to make money from it. Geep said in a statement that three of its employees, who arbitrarily sold recyclable devices, were responsible for the illegal act. An important point that the media found out was that the three employees were not ordinary employees. According to rumors, the three people who sold the devices are Geep executives.

The news, first reported by iPhone Addict Media, states that Apple claims that more than 100,000 devices sold by Gip included iPhone , iPad , and Apple Watch . Apple has told Gip that the devices should be recycled, but apparently Gip executives have refused. 9to5Mac Media quotes iPhone Addict writes that Apple has carefully focused on Gip activities. The 9to5Mac puts the exact number of recyclable devices sold at 103,845, and says Gip is responsible for disassembling and recycling parts.

Apparently, Apple’s lawsuit against Gip was filed in January 2020, but the documents related to the case have recently been made available to the media. It is also said that Gip filed separate cases in court in July 2020 (July and August 2016). According to informed media outlets, Apple is estimating the final cost of receiving compensation from Gip. The cost is said to include the profit of all devices sold, along with another $ 23.3 million. Gip wants the managers who caused this mistake to pay for the possible damages themselves.

An Apple Addict report reads: “As soon as Apple filed the lawsuit, it demanded 100 percent of the profits from the sale of the products, along with C $ 31 million (US $ 23.3 million or € 19.87 million). “Gip wants the three employees to be liable for damages if the court grants Apple the right.” The question that arises is how did Apple find out that Gip did not recycle the devices? iPhone Addict has an interesting report about this.
