The iFixit Institute, which has a long history of autopsy electronics, recently released images of the autopsy of Apple AirPods Max  headphones to get acquainted with the internal components of these headphones. Thanks to the iFixit autopsy, we can see how easy or difficult it is to repair Apple’s headphones. iFixit also  dissected the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Bose NC 700 headphones to compare them to the AirPads Max headphones.

iFixit has not previously rated any of the AirPads series headphones with a single point for describing their repairability; However, AirPads Max is an exception to this rule and received a surprising score of 6 out of 10. Why is the AirPads Max repairability score so high? One of the reasons is related to the design of the headphone pads.

According to the Varge News Agency , the AirPads Max pads are attached to the body via a magnet, which makes them very easy to replace. In addition, Apple prefers to fasten many of the internal components of the AirPads Max instead of with glue. Using screws makes it relatively easy to replace the internal components of the AirPads Max if they are damaged. iFixit has welcomed the AirPads Max hinge mechanism between the strap and the headphone series.

iFixit says the headphone series can be detached using a SIM card slot or even a paper clip; That is, without the need to open the secret. iFixit says making this part of the AirPads Max headphones is probably the biggest hassle for Apple. According to the institute, the mechanism of the AirPads Max hinge is complex and detailed, and may make the AirPads Max price tag a little more comprehensible.
