Apple sold 19.2 million iPads in the fourth quarter of 2020  , up 40 percent from the estimated 13.7 million units in the fourth quarter of 2019, according to MacRumors , citing figures released by research firm Canaliz . The tech giant, with its brilliant performance, has managed to capture 36% of the global tablet market and is at the top of this list with a distance of twice compared to its long-time rival  Samsung . The Korean company, with a 19% market share, sold 9.9 million tablets.

According to the report, Amazon , with a market share of 12%, shipped 6.5 million tablets,  followed by Lenovo with 5.6 million and Huawei with 3.5 million tablets. Kanaliz says about this:

Apple had the best performance of the iPad since the fourth quarter of 2014, with a 40% share and sales of 19.2 million. Samsung retained second place in the market with 9.9 million tablets, up 41% from the same period last year. Due to unprecedented demand during the holiday season, Amazon was third with 6.5 million tablets, followed by Lenovo with 5.6 million sales and a 125 percent increase in sales. Huawei was the only company in the top five sellers whose annual shipments fell.

Canaliz estimates that Apple shipped about 58.8 million tablets in 2020 alone, a 24 percent increase over the same period in 2019. It is said that Samsung with 31 million sales, followed by Huawei with 16.3 million and Amazon with 15.9 million tablets, ranked first to third. The report shares a combined estimate of PC, tablet and Chromebook sales in the fourth quarter of 2020, using which the Cupertinos shipped 26.4 million units, a 42 percent increase over combined iPad and Mac shipments . In 2019, they are the second best seller in the world.
