Later in May, Microsoft executives confirmed that Windows 10 X would focus on laptops with a single display, rather than on dual-display devices. In a statement from the Redmondians, Panos Panai , product manager, said:

We intend for users to first experience the features of Windows 10X on products with a single display, and at the appropriate time, in collaboration with our business partners, to provide the Windows 10 X experience on dual-display devices to users.

However, there was no mention of a delay in the introduction of the Surface Neo, and a page dedicated to the Redmondians’ new tablet mentioned its unveiling during the 2020 winter holidays. However, this seems to have changed; Because the information about Surface Neo has been edited and there is no mention of when it will be unveiled. Microsoft has removed the phrase “Introduction to the 2020 Winter Vacation” from the official Surface Neo page, which is meant to confirm the delay in the introduction of the new Redmond tablet . However, the Surface Duo launch schedule has not changed and is expected to be unveiled at the specified time, at the end of 2020.

Some reports suggest a delay in the release of Windows 10 X-based products until 2022. Such a delay may, in time, give designers an opportunity to present more powerful products; But the important issue is the unknown fate of the Surface Neo. Does Microsoft plan to delay the release of the Surface Neo until 2022?
