Rumor has it that Apple is developing the next generation of the iPad mini, which will experience its first major redesign almost nine years after the launch of the first model. Apparently, the tech giant, in line with the design language of its latest products, intends to decorate the iPad mini with a display and flat edges, and after years, remove the Home button and install the ID touch sensor in the upper frame of the iPad, on the power button.

Previous reports have suggested that the redesigned iPad mini will be available by the end of this year; But  Mark German of Bloomberg claims in his weekly newsletter that Apple will unveil the product this fall, and that we will apparently see the biggest redesign of the device, which will experience almost the same conditions as the iPad 4. The next generation of Apple’s smallest iPad is believed to be only three millimeters larger than the current version, and the Lightning port will likely be replaced by a USB-C port; But it is not clear whether the port, like the iPad Pro, will support the Thunderbolt standard.
