During the WWDC 2021 developer event, Apple introduced a new version of the iPadOS 15 operating system for its tablets. Ability to add a widget to all pages, App Library and more advanced multitasking are some of the most important features of iPadOS 15. It seems that most of Apple’s focus is on increasing the productivity of its tablets.

Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, says of the iPadOS 15 update:

We are excited to further enhance the iPad user experience with the iPadOS 15. With more intuitive multitasking, a new home screen with integrated widgets and App Library capabilities, system-level note-taking with Quick Note, iPad-specific Translate app, SharePlay, Safari user experience redesign, new focus tools and much more, users can now take advantage of Have more.

Apple engineers have also made a number of changes. On iPadOS 15, with the help of a new menu that appears at the top edge of the user interface, the user can switch between Split View (for running two apps side by side) and Slide Over (floating the other app) with just one touch. On the other hand, the new Shelf option displays all the opened pages of each app, such as Safari or Pages. If you are in Split View mode, you can swipe down from any of the pages to return to the home page on the same page and run another application. The ability to create two adjacent screens from within the multitasking menu and new keyboard shortcuts to switch between Split View and Slide Over modes are other changes to the iPadOS 15 multitasking.
