Apple’s plan and interest in using a mini LED display on the iPad Pro is very clear, and over the past year, there have been many rumors about Apple using this type of display. According to rumors, Apple has been planning to abandon the traditional LED backlit screens on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro for some time and use the mini LED backlight technology. However, the current screens of the iPads offer good quality, and with the addition of new technology, the quality will improve. New reports now suggest the display of an OLED (Organic LED) display on the 11-inch iPad Pro.

According to the Korean website The Elec, Apple plans to launch at least one iPad Pro model with a mini LED display in the first half of 2021. In addition, it is rumored that following the launch of the first 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED backlight, Apple plans to launch new 11-inch iPad Pro models with OLED displays in the second half of next year. According to the report, Samsung and LG are currently building an OLED display for the iPad Pro.

Many rumors have so far claimed that the Mini-LED backlight may be limited to the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which is expected to be unveiled in March 2021, like its predecessor. Therefore, it is possible that the rest of the traditional LCD screens on the 11-inch iPad Pro will be replaced by upgraded OLED displays.

Needless to say, Mini-LED and OLED displays have the same advantages over traditional LCDs, including higher brightness, improved contrast ratio, and increased energy efficiency. Apple is also currently using OLED technology for its latest iPhones and applets.

Apple released the latest model of the iPad Pro in March 2020 with a relatively minor update. The Cupertinos in the new iPad Pro used the A12Z Bionic processor as its beating heart, which is, in fact, the same A12X processor with an extra graphics core. In addition, Apple has used an ultra-wide camera and slide sensor to enhance augmented reality technology and improved microphones compared to the iPad Pro 2018.
