Fujifilm captures 400 megapixels by adding Pixel Shift Multi-Shot to GFX100
The GFX100 can capture a 400-megapixel image with the help of a new tool called a pixel shift multi-shot; The new feature works through a 102-megapixel sensor, processor and image stabilization system, and combines 16 RAW images into a 400-megapixel image. The following image illustrates the function of this feature:
You can then edit the RAW file and create a 400-megapixel DNG image with Fujifilm Pixel Shift Combiner software. The new Fujifilm Pixel Shift Combiner software is not only needed to create large puzzle images, but can also be used to facilitate recording when using the Pixel Shift Multi-Shot.
Fujifilm believes that this feature can create an image that shows almost all the details in a realistic way and with a resolution of 400 megapixels, to achieve better image quality. This feature is useful for creating archives and protection of cultural monuments; Where photographers have to document the intricate details of historical and artistic works. The new technology is implemented in the GFX100 IR , which adds an infrared element to protective imaging and forensics.
