Samsung has announced that it will release a new software update for its new flagships as soon as possible to address complaints from customers about one of the pre-installed apps that limit the performance of Galaxy S22 series devices.

According to ZDNet , the problem of performance limitation in the Galaxy S22 series arises from the game optimization service program (OSGOS). When this service detects that a game is running, it will automatically change the device’s performance to run the game.

The South Korean tech giant has announced plans to add an option to its game launcher that allows users to prioritize device performance through software updates. More details on how this new option works are expected to be announced soon.

Samsung has previously explained that GOS on its devices prevents overheating and rapid battery consumption when playing games.

Some reports released by owners of Samsung Galaxy S22 series phones show that GOS, in addition to limiting the device’s performance when playing games, has also affected some applications. Samsung denies the allegations, claiming that GOS only affects games.

Of course, GOS is not a completely new feature for the Galaxy S22 series, and Samsung has used this service in previous generations of Galaxy series smartphones.

Gamers had solutions for disabling GOS on Samsung’s older galaxies, which were completely blocked with the release of the One UI 4.1 update.
