Apple’s plan and interest in using a mini LED display on the iPad Pro is very clear, and over the past year, there have been many rumors about Apple using this type of display. Now the latest Digitimes report identifies the supply chain of these displays. According to the report, Apple plans to launch at least one iPad Pro model with a mini LED display in the first half of 2021. In addition, following the launch of the first 12.9-inch iPad Pro with Mini-LED backlight, it is said that Apple will launch new MacBook Pro models with the same displays in the second half of next year.

The report confirms that Apple suppliers in Taiwan include Epistar for the production of LED chips, FitTech for testing and sorting, SMT for service providers, Zhen Ding Technology for suppliers of backlit panels, Auras Technology for suppliers and R Processing equipment is all working to provide the equipment and technology needed for mini LED displays. In addition, news sources point out that Apple’s future shipments and devices will grow significantly with mini-LED backlighting.
